One of the biggest myth I hear daily is that the silver doesn't hold diamond properly, but that's not true. The security of a diamond doesn't depend on whether the jewellery is made in silver or gold; it depends on good craftsmanship, proper setting, and proper manufacturing.
At Veyaa, all our silver pieces are made in 925 sterling silver with proper rhodium or gold plating, and diamond is securely set just like a gold piece.
Another question frequently asked to me is that the silver will turn black or it will get scratches. But let me tell you the truth: if your silver jewellery is rhodium plated, even after years of wear, nothing will happen to your jewellery because the underneath color of the metal is silver. So, even if the rhodium plating gradually wears off after time, it will not turn black—the natural color of silver will reflect on your ring. With gold plating, there are chances that your gold plating may fade off after some time, but if taken proper care of, nothing will happen to that as well.
So yes, 14k gold and sterling silver are two different metals, but don't let the myth that silver doesn't hold the diamond properly stop you from buying jewellery at a much more affordable pricing!"
